ABOUT ABOUT

Set aside some time to see the amazing work our local actors do in Mira Mesa Theatre Guild’s production of, ‘ART’ by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton and directed byTim Arends.

The comedy 'ART' raises questions about art and friendship. It concerns three long-time friends, Serge, Marc, and Yvan. Serge, buys a large, expensive, completely white painting. Marc is horrified, and their relationship suffers considerable strain as a result of their differing opinions about what constitutes "art". Yvan, caught in the middle of the conflict, tries to please and mollify both of them. The show contains adult language.

‘ART’ stars Mira Mesa resident Ryan Brewer as Mark. Ryan’s passion for music and acting lead him to this production. He also plays with the band Hitman Honey.

It also stars Adam Wallock as Yvan. Alan has been involved with theatre for 25 years. Performing in the play, ‘ART’ has been on his bucket list. The Guild is pleased to have him fulfill his dream with us. Adam lives in UTC. He is also a popular PC game live streamer. Our third star, playing the part of Serge is also the play’s director, Tim Arends. Tim was last seen on stage in Mira Mesa Theatre Guild’s Greater Tuna. He usually is in the director chair as he has for 6 productions with the Guild. Tim has years of theatre experience. In every show he directs he has a hidden Mickey Mouse on the set. This show is no exception.

Come find the hidden Mickey Mouse and see some great theatre while supporting Mira Mesa’s community theatre. ‘ART’ plays Feb. 19, 20, 26, 27 & Mar. 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Wangenheim Middle School Theatre, 9230 Gold Coast Dr. And for the first time ever, we are doing a Saturday Matinee on Mar. 5 at 2:00 p.m.
